We are the South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre and we are dedicated to volunteering and interesting people in volunteering.
The South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre is a registered non profit society and Charity that provides access to resources and support services for volunteers and volunteer based community organizations. The Volunteer Centre provides a direct service to the community meaning that all of our programs and services are open and accessible to the public. Access to resources and support services for everyone. The Volunteer Centre plays a key role in promoting and supporting effective volunteerism in our community.
WHAT WE DO
Inspire and encourage everyone to volunteer
Provide easy access to volunteer opportunities on and offline
We help organizations retain volunteers by increasing volunteer appreciation
We create new programs for new volunteer opportunities that are needed in our communities, such as our Senior Program and our Future Youth Volunteer Program
We educate organizations & volunteers alike on important topics to them
Collaborates with governments, community leaders and organizations to speak on behalf of volunteers and volunteering

Our Pets in the Park and 1st Annual Pet-Friendly Penticton Holiday Market events in 2022 were a huge success and we couldn't have done it without the help and hard work of our PAWSOME volunteers - ALL of which were recruited through the SOS Volunteer Centre's network!
